Welling manager Jamie Day is aiming to bring Charlton defender Yado Mambo back to the club this week.
The youngster joined the Wings on loan in August but returned to The Valley when the Addicks refused to let him play in the FA Cup.
But Mambo watched Welling's 3-0 Blue Square South win over Staines on Saturday and could return for the FA Trophy tie against Tonbridge on Sunday.
Day, pictured, said: "Yado was there on Saturday and it might be good to bring him in to cover until Steve King is fit.
"We've got a couple missing next week so it would be good if he can come in."
Welling gained their biggest win of the season against Staines but Day is still looking to bring in new faces, although any changes may not be as drastic as first thought if the squad can maintain their current form.
"We're always on the lookout and if I can bring one or two in then I will possibly do that. We may bring in a striker if we can.
"I've had a few calls from players asking if they can come down to train and also clubs at a higher level asking if we want players on loan.
"But if the lads keep playing like they did against Staines then I won't need to bring too many in."
Day admitted it was a great start to his managerial career against Staines and praised the work-rate of his team.
"It was a great start and all credit to the lads who worked really hard for 90 minutes," said Day. "It;s been a hectic week but an enjoyable one, and winning has made it even more special.
"Not having any managerial experience, it was difficult to know what it was going to be like but I've really enjoyed it."
