Charlton's League 1 game against Hartlepool United at The Valley on Saturday has fallen victim to the cold snap.

Despite groundstaff attempting to protect the pitch with frost covers, overnight snow on Tuesday, allied to this week's freezing temperatures, put paid to any chances of the game going ahead.

In the wake of last Saturday's postponement against Walsall, when the match was called off with many Addicks fans already having arrived in the area, Charlton wanted to give a definitive verdict on the game well in advance.
