A Chatham medical student was due in court today charged with murdering a television executive found dead in a burnt-out car.

Gagandip Singh pictured left, 21, was discovered in the boot of the car dumped in Blackheath, south east London, in February.

The trial of Mundill Mahil, 20, of Regent Guest House, Maidstone Road, will begin at the Old Bailey after the student pleaded not guilty earlier this year.

Mr Singh, of Bexleyheath was the owner of new broadcasting service Sikh TV.

He is believed to have been attacked at a flat in Brighton before being left in the Mercedes.

The trial is expected to last until the end of January.

Harvinder Shoker, 19, of Charlton Park Lane, Charlton, south London, and Darren Peters, 19, of Shooters Hill Road, Blackheath, are also both on trial after denying the same charge.
