Cut-price tickets are being sold to tempt young theatre-goers through the doors.
The scheme by the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury aims to get 16 to 26-year-olds and full-time students to come to the venue’s shows.
It means discounts will be available on top-priced tickets to big week-long productions.
The Discovery tickets scheme will also run on smaller shows in the Marlowe Studio, priced at about £8.
The intiative follows on from ones run by the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company.
Theatre director Mark Everett said: “This scheme gives you the chance to take a risk and try something new, or to see a West End show on a budget.
“We’re excited to welcome a younger audience, and potentially our new generation of theatre-goers, into our venue.”
The next shows available with Discovery tickets include the Marlowe Comedy Cabaret on Saturday, September 28, priced at £9, Simon Munnery on Saturday, October 5 at £8 and Slava’s Snowshow from Tuesday to Saturday, October 8 to 12 at £8.
Discount tickets are available from Friday, September 20.
