The grape picking season has begun in Kent and
it's good news for Kent’s vineyards thanks to a summer of perfect
weather.

Chapel Down Wines in Tenterden says it's been
a "fantastic” year for the vines and it's set to be one of the best
crops yet.

A good grape crop means a vintage year for the
county's wine. The English wine industry is growing year on year
and stocks of wine from this country are selling out when they hit
the shops.

Frazer Thompson is managing director at Chapel
Down Wines says it's exciting news for Kent:

"Kent really is the epicentre of wine
making.

"When we see vineyards being planted far and
wide in the county, predominantly in the North Downs and in the
Weald, Kent really will see some really significant changes
starting to happen."
