Video: Chef Scott Goss
talks about his 15 minutes of TV fame

When Scott Goss had to plate up 25 starters under the critical
eye of Gordon Ramsay - not to mention a Channel 4 TV crew - the
36-year-old from Medway realised what pressure is.

The head chef of Michelin-listed The Swan in West Malling is no
stranger to pressure but this was something completely
different.

His leadership in the kitchen earned his restaurant a place
among the 18 restaurants selected by The F Word out of 10,000
nominations to appear on the programme, in the hunt to find the
Best Local Restaurant in the UK.

Under the show's format, each week audiences have watched chefs
from the best two in each category, ranging from Italian to Thai,
battle it out in the F Word kitchen. This next episode is the
British category, in which The Swan takes on The Pheasant from
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

As always in The F Word, 50 diners decide if they are going to pay
for the dishes prepared and the restaurant with the most paying
customers wins the day. This culminates in a grand finale in
January, when the winner of the F Word's Best Local Restaurant will
be crowned.

British restaurants episode, which features The Swan, is shown on
Channel 4 at 9pm on Tuesday, December 22.
