A two-year-old boy has died after falling into a pond in Ramsgate.

Kent Police were called to a house in Hollicondane Road at around 4.40pm Wednesday where attempts were being made to resuscitate the youngster.

The toddler was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate but died just before 8pm.

A spokesman for Kent Police confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

The coroner has been informed and a post mortem is due to take place.
