Children raise money in memory of Molly

A seat at the new Marlowe Theatre will bear the name of youngster Molly Bubb thanks to pupils at Reculver primary school.

Children at the school managed to raise enough money to sponsor a chair in memory of the four-year-old who died in 2008 from a rare brain cancer.

All pupils and staff were asked to donate £1 to wear pink for the day, with the rest of the cash raised through a tombola, cake stalls and chocolate fountain.

A pupil at the school had suggested the fundraising day to staff.

The school’s Kerry Spendiff said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all those in the community and staff and parents who helped raise the money for such a special cause.”
