A woman pedestrian was taken to hospital by air ambulance on Sunday morning August 1 after a crash at Frith Road, Dover.

Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the scene following a report that a car had collided with three people who were walking down Frith Road, near the junction with Avenue Road, opposite the Dover Girls' Grammar School. They were on their way to the morning service at Charlton Church.

A middle-aged woman suffered serious head and leg injuries. The air ambulance landed on the road at a five-way junction with Barton Road, Old Charlton Road, Connaught Road, Castle Avenue and Frith Road. The woman was flown to Romford Hospital in Essex which specialises in the treatment of neurological injuries.

Two others, a mother and daughter, were taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford, but were discharged after treatment.

Police closed the road for several hours while crash investigation officers examined the scene to determine what had happened.
