PASSENGERS were this afternooon evacuated from a coach on the hard shoulder of the M20 coast-bound, near Junction 3 at Wrotham, after smoke began billowing from the vehicle.

Police, who were called to the scene at about 1pm moved the passengers to safety.

Lane one of the carriageway was closed and police set up a rolling road to slow down and ensure the safety of passing motorists.

A Kent police spokeswoman said the cause of the fire was as yet unknown. No one was injured.
