Hythe Town first team coach Martin Chandler is leaving the club after three years in the post.

The club marked his departure at their presentation evening on Saturday, when he was presented with a plaque and club shirt signed by all the Reachfields players.

Chandler, who joined Town after a spell as player/coach at Herne Bay, wants to spend more time with his family, partner Tanya, and their three children, Cameron (10), Logan, who is five, and nine-month-old Keegan.

He also runs Elite Community Coaching with Micheal Everitt at Folkestone, which has been going for four years, and operates in the Folkestone, Hythe and Ashford areas.

Chandler (pictured) said: "They have been three good years, and very successful ones, finishing eighth this season was a massive achievement.

"Scott (Porter) and Clive (Cook) work their socks off for the players, and the players go out and perform."

The management team of Porter and Cook are already looking at possible additions to the squad.

Cook said: "We always like to do our business early. We have targeted two or three new players and are already active in the market. Four players are on contract, Nick Reeves, Nick Barnes, Taser Hassan and Ronnie Dolan, but everyone wants to stay."
