KENT-based comedy actor Chris Langham has pleaded not guilty to a series of sex assaults and Internet pornography charges.

Langham, 57, of Golford, Cranbrook, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Thursday. The former star of BBC comedy The Thick Of It was responding for the first time to the charges against him.

It is alleged he committed a series of sexual assaults involving a girl between April 1994 and April 1998. He is also facing charges of making indecent photographs of children in September, October and November 2005.

A trial date has been set for June 20.
