Three top acts are lined up for the Comedy Club at Margate’s Theatre Royal tonight, Friday.

Sam Avery wanted to be a rock star. It nearly happened. Despite being signed up by BMG Records at the age of 17 (he had to resign from his beloved paper round), and subsequent tours with Motorhead and Ice T, the story soon took a familiar turn and before he knew it he was back at the paper shop asking for his fluorescent bag back.

Friendly and enthusiastic, his observational style instantly puts audiences at ease allowing him to regale them with his tales of everyday life.

Roddy Fraser is a Scottish comedian, musician and sketch writer who has made a name for himself playing for the last six years in top UK venues like The Comedy Club, The Comedy Store, Jongleurs and The Comedy Cafe.

Phil Butler’s fast-moving act has taken him all over the world, from cruising in the Caribbean and the Med, to entertaining the Armed Forces in Afghanistan to Iraq. Phil’s career is now evolving again after landing his first acting role on BBC1’s hit show Hotel Babylon where he played the part of a mischievous chef. His second role came soon after, and Phil can now be seen singing in the latest AA television advert.
