Concern for missing student

POLICE are concerned for the safety of a North Korean student who has been missing since he discharged himself from the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate on October 31. Seung Lee, 32, had been found by a patrol car at a clifftop shelter at Royal Esplandade, Westbrook, with a serious cut on his left arm.

He was taken to hospital but left before he was seen by a doctor. He had stayed with a host family in Thanet during his six month stay studying at the Churchill School of English in Ramsgate. Once this placement finished last December, he moved to south east London but frequently returned to Margate.

A police spokeswoman said: “Extensive efforts have been made to trace Mr Lee but so far without success. We are very worried for his personal safety."

He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a light coloured top. If anyone knows where Mr Lee is, or sees him, they should telephone Bill Love, the missing persons office at Thanet police, on 01843 222102.
