A collection of flats at The Old Hospital, the former Ophthalmic and Aural Hospital in Maidstone, are proving popular with those looking for contemporary living.

The first phase at The Old Hospital consists of five flats, with two still available. Although the homes are still being built people are able to take a look around the show home.

The former hospital is being transformed into a luxury collection of one and two-bedroom flats by Higgins Homes.

The original Georgian buildings are being carefully restored and converted, while the other buildings will form a collection of new and contemporary high specification flats all in a landscaped setting.

"We have been overwhelmed by the high number of inquiries and are asking anyone interested in buying one of the apartments to contact us now," said Connells Maidstone branch manager, Carl Zehntner.

Most of the flats at The Old Hospital will reflect Higgins Homes’ commitment to the environment by achieving ‘very good’ on the Government’s code 3 sustainable housing rating.

The flats will be modern and practical with an Urban Myth kitchen including a range of integrated appliances, a contemporary white bathroom suite with chrome fittings by Ideal Standard, security entry phone system and TV, telephone and FM radio outlet points to reception room and bedrooms. All properties also come with a 10-year NHBC warranty.

"These new apartments would be suitable for first-time buyers, commuters and young professionals, wanting to be conveniently located for the amenities and facilities of Maidstone town centre and the town’s train stations," said Mr Zehntner.

Prices start from £129,500. For more details call Connells on 01622 751034 or visit the branch on King Street – just a few hundred yards away from the development.
