More on KentOnline
Could you be our charity of the year?
Good causes and charities are invited to apply to become KentOnline's charity of the year.
The KM Group, which includes KentOnline, kmfm radio, and KM newspapers, has a proud tradition of supporting local causes.
We can not only turn the spotlight on them to encourage readers and listeners to back them, we also organise events to directly raise funds for the charity or cause.
To help manage requests to become our charity of the year for 2010 - in each of our eight market places - groups should apply by October 14.
The successful cause or charity will receive the full backing of KM Group newspapers, kmfm radio station and local website in their community highlighting its work and any special fund-raising projects it undertakes during the year.
The KM Charity Team also aims to stage one or more fund-raising events to support the selected cause in each of the eight areas.
Causes applying will be notified in November if their application has been successful. The charity of the year period runs from the first week of January.
The KM Charity Team is hoping for active charitable partners who will make the most of the opportunity being named as Charity of Year.
Currently editors are open to all suggestions and ideas but the key issue is location. The project you wish to be supported must be within the circulation area of the KM Group newspaper you are applying for support. It is not essential to be a registered charity to apply. Any local good cause or project can be considered.
