Council may turn its back on Margate

MARGATE'S dream move to Hartsdown Park may be over. A report issued by Thanet District Council has recommended negotiations with the club and developers are discontinued.

The report could spell the end for the club who were asked to provide additional information relating to proposals for the site shortly before Christmas.

The new document recommends alternatives for the site at Hartsdown Park are considered, as the council seek other developers opinions on how else to fund a similar project.

Officials are holding crisis talks with councillors tomorrow with a press conference called for 4.30pm

If a decision is made to back the report at Thursday's council cabinet meeting, the club say they'd have no option but to quit the Football Conference South.)
