A visit to a Kent town put the royal into Royal Tunbridge Wells today.

Scores of well-wishers flocked to the town to greet the Earl and Countess of Wessex this morning.

Later in the afternoon, the royal couple fly by helicopter to Gillingham.

They visited Pembroke House care home, were they mingled and chatted with well-wishers.

The couple were visiting the county as part of the jubilee royal tour around Britain.

Representing the Queen, the royals met and chatted with locals at The Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells.

Amid a sea of flags, they stopped for a photo opportunity in front of the crowd - several deep.

The pair then attended a reception with volunteer groups before unveiling a plaque to mark their visit.
