A man and a woman have appeared in court accused of wilful neglect after a man was scalded in a bath at a care home in Whitstable.

Ebenezer Adebisi, 27, of Forest Row, London, and Sharon Johnson, 46, of Charnwood Street, London appeared at Canterbury Crown Court, and denied the charge allegedly committed between November 10 and 13.

The Crown claim, the victim, who according to the charge lacked mental capacity, was scalded and the defendants failed to get medical help.

Both were bailed and the case will be called on for a directions hearing in October and a trial date has been set for December 9.

The alleged incident happened at the Five Ways home in Kingsdown Park.
