A couple who visited a baby's grave have been ruled out of a cold case murder investigation.

The pair were caught on CCTV close to the grave of the girl - known as baby April - at Bybrook Cemetery in Ashford.

The baby died 16 years ago when, just hours old, she was discovered suffocated and wrapped in a toilet roll bag.

But officers in the county's cold case team have now eliminated the couple from their enquiries, following an appeal on August 9.

Newborn baby April, as she was named by officers, was found by a couple walking alongside Singleton Lake in Ashford on April 3 1995.

A murder inquiry was launched and, despite an extensive murder investigation at the time, the baby's parents weren't identified.
