A KENT couple in their sixties will be the star attraction at the CRMC Classic Bike King of Brands meeting at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Dennis and Christine Etheridge, from Maidstone, have been sidecar racing since 1987 and currently lead their class in the CRMC championship on their 750cc Norton outfit.

They took up racing after supporting their son in his remarkable achievement of 10 British Sidecar Motocross Championship titles.

On show will also be the renewal of an old friendly rivalry between Kevin Tong and Kevin Richards.

Tong, a 42-year-old prison officer from Sheerness, has recently returned to racing after a 22-year absence and Faversham's Richards is still one of the fastest around in the FRC and Post Classics.

There will also be a Classic Parade featuring four legends of British road racing, including two former Kings of Brands, Stan Woods and Ron Chandler, and Tommy Robb and Frank Perris.

Former mulitple world champion Phil Read will also be competing on a 500 Goldstar and the Moto Paton 499.

Tickets cost £12 per adult with children aged 12 and under free. Free parking and paddock access is also available.

Practice starts at 9am with the racing starting after 10.30am on both days.
