Biker critical after road crash

A man was airlifted to a London hospital following a serious accident in a Kent town on Thursday.

The 34 year old's Honda motorcycle collided with a red Nissan Micra on Borstal Hill, Whitstable, at around 12.40pm.

Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was taken to King’s College Hospital by air ambulance.

His injuries were described as potentially life threatening - but police confirmed on Friday his condition was critical but stable.

Police closed the road for eight hours and traffic was diverted along the A2990 Thanet Way, while officers from Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit carried out investigations.

The driver of the Nissan, a woman from Whitstable, was taken to the QEQM Hospital, Margate. Her injuries were described as minor and she was discharged on Thursday evening.
