A two-car accident has caused major tailbacks on the A249 between Sittingbourne and the Stockbury roundabout near the M2.

Police, fire and ambulance crews are currently at the scene.

Traffic is backed-up to the Key Street roundabout on the Maidstone-bound carriageway.

A police spokesman says the occupants of the cars have not been seriously injured.

The tailback is believed to be more than two miles in length.
