Thirteen teenagers arrested after a gang of youths attacked a father and son in Strood have all been released on police bail.
The teens are all male, aged between 15 and 18. Nine were arrested by police during early morning raids in Strood and Rochester on Monday.
Four further arrests were made on Monday afternoon and Tuesday.
The teenagers were questioned in connection with an incident, which happened on February, 27 in Church Green, Strood between 8.30pm and 9.15pm.
A 50-year-old man was assaulted by a large group of up to 17 teenagers, following a dispute and his 19-year-old son, who came to his aid, was also attacked.
The victims suffered cuts and bruises and were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital.
The teenagers have been released on police bail pending further investigations.
The bail is subject to strict conditions including a curfew keeping them indoors from 8pm-6am daily and a ban from being in groups of three or more people in a public place.
Det Sgt Dan Smith said: “This was an unprovoked and isolated incident and fortunately the victim did not suffer serious injuries.
“We wanted to make some early morning arrests of people we would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
“Making these arrests on the first day of the Easter holidays also sends out a clear message that behaviour of this kind will not be tolerated.
“An early morning call from Kent Police would not be what these teenagers or their families would have expected.
“We are pleased with how this operation has gone as it took considerable planning and resources.
“There are still people who we would like to speak to in connection with this assault and we are also appealing for further witnesses to come forward.”
Supt Des Keers added: "Kent Police in Medway will not hesitate in taking appropriate action against those who are seen to break the law and act in an anti-social manner.
"We want to cause these individuals the same amount of disruption as they often cause to the law-abiding members of our community."
