Curtis Weston admits Gillingham's midfielders need to weigh in with the goals.
Leading scorer Danny Kedwell is a major doubt for Saturday's game at Shrewsbury and Weston (pictured) knows he has to improve his own goal ratio and will be out to do just that in the second part of the season.
He said: "I normally get more goals than this but there is still half a season left. We do have the extra responsibility, especially myself, as I have only scored a couple. I am due some goals.
"Kedwell has been brilliant, not just with his goals but his work-rate for the team, but we have Danny Jackman, Lewis Montrose and myself. We are doing our bit but do need to score a few more each."
With an eight-point gap between the Gills and the automatic promotion places, Andy Hessenthaler’s side can’t afford to drop too many points for the remainder of the season.
"Football can change quickly," said Weston. "We have picked up again at the stage we did last season but this time our start was a lot better. If we can carry on as we did at the end of last season, then that should be enough."
