Cyclist fights for life after crash in Ramsgate

A cyclist is fighting for his life after a hit-and-run crash in Ramsgate this afternoon.

The man, in his 60s, was cycling along Dumpton Park Drive towards Broadstairs just after 12.35pm when he was in a crash with a large black car near the junction with Montefiore Avenue.

The car didn't stop, and was seen accelerating up Montefiore Avenue in the direction of Hereson Road.

The cyclist was taken to a London hospital with serious head injuries. He is said to be in a life-threatening condition.

Officers from the Kent Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit are at the scene.

Police closed Montefiore Road and Dumpton Park Drive between Muir Road and Warten Road.
