Cyclist killed in crash with lorry on Thanet Way

A cyclist has died after a crash involving a lorry on the Thanet Way at Broomfield this morning.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident opposite the Roman Galley pub on the London-bound carriageway.

Emergency services were called to the crash site just before midday and closed the road at the St Nicholas-at-Wade roundabout.

Drivers were diverted through Canterbury until the stretch was re-opened at 3.40pm.
