Cyclist struck by double decker

A 46-year-old cyclist was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a bus in Kent.

The crash happened at around 8am Monday in Canterbury Road, Herne, near Herne Bay.

The cyclist, a local man, was taken to Kings College Hospital in London by air ambulance. Police said he was in a "comfortable condition" on Monday afternoon.

Neither the driver of the double decker nor the sole passenger on the bus were hurt.

The road was closed for four hours.
