The future of a Medway primary school will be revealed today at a meeting of the council's cabinet.
St John’s was originally told to close along with Ridge Meadow Primary School, both in Chatham, while it was decided to keep St Peter’s Infants School, in Rochester, open.
All three were first considered for closure.
The decision about St John's was referred back to the cabinet by six Tory councillors last week, who recommended the council reconsider the proposal.
Today's meeting will be held at the St George’s Centre, in Pembroke Road, Chatham Maritime.
Committee chairman Cllr David Brake said: "The committee received representations from the head teacher and two parents from St John's CE infant school who commented on the school's high standards, its Ofsted reports, its support for pupils from ethnic minority groups, its drop in the number of surplus places and the lack of places within neighbouring schools.
"In the light of matters raised, the committee recommended Cabinet reconsider its decision in relation to St John's."
