Danny Jackman left Priestfield with the man-of-the-match champagne on Saturday and a glowing assessment from manager Andy Hessenthaler.

Jackman scored a second-half belter to top an impressive performance and the Gills boss was at the front of the queue to praise his midfielder.

"We are delighted with him and his performances over the last few weeks have been superb," said Hessenthaler.

"He is so creative and it is great to watch him at the moment.

"The players in midfield are also helping to bring the best out of Lewis Montrose at the moment, who is settling down now.

"Jacko is such a clever player and a pleasure to work with. He has so much quality."

Jackman, 28, started the season down the pecking order but is now a regular on the team sheet. He has played 19 times this season and 139 in total for the Gills.
