Leading scorer Danny Kedwell will be fighting to prove his fitness ahead of Gillingham’s trip to Burton.
The 11-goal striker (pictured) was sent home from training with a virus at the start of the week and told to stay away in a bid to contain the illness.
Boss Andy Hessenthaler will hope he has recovered in time for the game tomorrow (Saturday) as the Gills aim to bounce back from three successive League 2 defeats.
"He has had it before but he came in and was told to stay away for two days," said Hessenthaler.
"He’s going to end up missing five days of training."
The Gills need to pick up their form and face two games in three days, as a home match against Southend on Monday night follows the Burton visit.
"They are really important games because we’ve had a poor month previously and it’s important we start winning games again," said the Gills boss.
"We want to be in touch of the top seven, that’s our aim. We have a game in hand and the minimum achievement this year is to be in the top seven."
Hessenthaler hopes to have Danny Spiller (ankle) and Jack Payne (ankle) fit again but Charlie Lee (knee) is a doubt. Simon King is unlikely to feature after receiving injections in both ankles.
