Danny Kedwell has backed manager Andy Hessenthaler to bring success to Gillingham this season.
The striker believes the current inconsistency will soon be replaced by a run of wins to lift the Gills up the League 2 table.
"Hess is going to get it right," said the 28-year-old. "He is a great manager and gets us going. What he did last year, after a bad start, showed what he could do. He can get the club right up there and he knows how to motivate people."
After back-to-back defeats left the Gills sitting 10th, it has led to unrest among the Gills fans.
Kedwell (pictured) added: "Fans only see the results, which is fair enough, but as players we all believe in him. As soon as things go right, everyone will be happy. That’s football."
Kedwell, who moved to the Gills from AFC Wimbledon in the summer, believes his own game will improve now he is becoming familiar with his team-mates. He has scored five goals so far but only two of those have been from open play.
He added: "From open play I am not happy really (with the total), but saying that, it isn’t like I have had five or six chances a game. If I was, I would be scoring twice in a game.
"It seems like when I do get a chance I have to put it away. I am still learning to read people’s games and I am sure I will soon get on a run and start scoring more."
