Leading scorer Danny Kedwell ended his barren run with Gillingham’s equaliser at Rochdale and now hopes he can finish the season with plenty more.
Before Tuesday night’s game, Kedwell (pictured) had failed to find the net in his previous eight appearances – four of which had come off the bench – and his last goal had been against title rivals Port Vale in January.
He was a constant threat against Rochdale and scored a vital goal early in the second half.
"It felt good to score," said the 29-year-old, who now has 13 goals for the current campaign, just one behind last season’s total.
"Hopefully, I will go onto a run now and finish with a goal every game until the end of the season, which would be nice and would get me toward that 20-goal mark.
"I am sure if I get on a run, it is do-able. I had a run like that at the beginning of the season.
"Obviously, I have been in and out of the team. I was injured for a month, I then came back for two games and was then dropped for Exeter. To come back in and get a goal will hopefully see me go on a run."
