Former Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller is joining Blue Square Bet Premier Division side Luton Town.

Spiller, who was released by the Gills at the end of the season, will formally sign for the Kenilworth Road club on July 1.

The Maidstone-born Spiller made a total of 187 appearances for the Gills during his two spells with the club, the first between 2001-2007, before he was brought back to the club by Andy Hessenthaler in 2010.

A product of the Gills' youth system, 30-year-old Spiller was voted the club's Player of the Year in the 2003-04 season.
