Kent’s Darren Stevens and Robbie Joseph are the latest players to agree new contract extensions with the county.

They have both signed new deals that take them through to 2011.

Stevens (pictured), 33, joined the county in 2005 and equalled his career best score of 208 against Middlesex last summer. He represented England in the Hong Kong Sixes in October.

Joseph, 28 next month, is making a good recovery following a shoulder operation.

He missed the second half of the season after being injured fielding in the Twenty20 game against Surrey at The Oval in June.

Kent’s team director Paul Farbrace, said: "We are delighted that Darren and Robbie have extended their contracts with the club.

"Both are quality players and, with Rob Key, Martin van Jaarsveld and Geraint Jones recently extending their deals, the nucleus of the team is now taking shape.

“As a club, it’s great for us to know that the players want to commit themselves moving forward. It’s also exciting from the team point of view because it puts us in a strong position, going into the 2010 season.”
