DETECTIVES questioning a woman over the death of 27-year-old Matthew Thatcher in a house fire in Victoria Street, Eccles, near Maidstone, in the early hours of Saturday, have won an extension in her custody.

They can hold the 30-year-old suspect until 10pm tonight (Wednesday), by which time a police announcement is expected.

Mr Thatcher was employed by the Mid Kent Water Company.
