A man accused of attempted murder has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court by TV link from prison.

Mark Young, of Missenden Court, Clarence Street, Folkestone, is alleged to have tried to kill Rex Rioch, who suffered stab wounds to his abdomen on May 24.

Judge Jeremy Carey transferred 30-year-old Young’s case to Canterbury Crown Court, where he will enter a plea on August 3.
