KENT Police were called to the M20 this afternoon after a collision involving a foreign registered goods lorry and a car towing a caravan.

The incident happened on the coastbound carriageway at J2-J3 near Wrotham at around 3.15pm.

There were only minor injuries but the lorry was carrying engine parts which spilt onto the hard shoulder and lane 1.

Motorists were being asked to avoid the area as lane 1 and 2 were closed to allow emergency services to attend.

The M20 between J2-J3 is likely to be completely closed later this evening for recovery of the lorry and its contents.
