DETECTIVES are seeking further information after a woman was grabbed on Margate seafront and pulled into a shopping arcade. The 31-year-old got off a train at Margate station at 12.50am on Thursday November 8. As she walked along the seafront, a man approached her and asked her the time.

She told him and carried on walking. But the man then followed her and began calling after her and harassing her verbally. As she passed Arlington Arcade on Marine Terrace, the man grabbed her shoulder and tried to drag her into the arcade.

The woman struggled free and ran off. Police are asking for anyone who was on the same train as the woman, or was in the area at the time of the attack to come forward.

The man is white, in his 20s, medium build and 5ft 5in tall. He was wearing a dark cap, and a light and dark puffer jacket. The victim noticed he was very softly spoken. Anyone who may recognise him from the description is asked to contact DC Pip Harvey on Thanet 222146.
