DETECTIVES are urging witnessing to come forward if they saw a brutal assault outside a public house.

A 21-year-old man received serious injuries in the incident in Dale Street, Chatham, opposite the Shipwrights Arms pub, at about 6.30pm on Sunday, January 22.

Police spokeswoman Anne McCarthy said: "The incident followed an altercation between two men resulting in one of them receiving serious injuries and needing hospital treatment."
