A dirty-fingernailed pervert is being hunted after trying to pull off a woman's clothes in the street.

The woman, in her 30s, was walking in Deal along West Street to Anchor Lane when she was targeted.

When she reached the garage at the top end of Anchor Lane, she was approached from behind by a man.

He grabbed her and tried to pull off her clothing, but she managed to break free and get to safety.

The man is described as white, around 25 to 35, 5ft 5in and wearing dark clothing.

Kent Police said that at the time of the assault, at about 2.30am on Saturday, he had long dirty fingernails.
