A MINATURE Shetland foal, just five months old, has been stolen from her stable.
Now owner Valerie Shallcross is offering a £1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the thieves who took Lucky overnight between Friday and Saturday from Rochester Road, Aylesford, near Maidstone.
She said: "We are very worried about her. She is not ready to be away from her mother and we fear for her health and she hasn’t even been weaned off her mother’s milk yet."
Mrs Shallcross is also worried about Lucky’s mother Katy who, she says, is distressed at the loss of her foal.
She said: "She keeps fussing around me and watching me as if to say ‘have you got her?’"
Mrs Shallcross said the thieves must have lifted Lucky over the fence of the field where the stables are.
She added: "If anyone saw anything suspicious such as a vehicle parked near the field please could they call the police and let them know.
"We are very worried about her and miss her. She is only a baby and she only trusts me to deal with her because I have reared her since she was born."
Lucky is about 30 inches high, caramel coloured, with a tiny white star on her forehead and some slight scaring under her chin..
A police spokeswoman said: "The incident is believed to have happened at around 1am on Saturday February 5 on the corner of Rochester Road and Pratling Street in Aylesford.
"We believe the pony to be very distinctive and someone must know where she is."
Anyone with information can call police on 01622 608189 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
