A DOCTOR has appeared before Maidstone Crown Court on drugs charges. Sammy Abraham was working at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham when he is alleged to have committed the offences on March 2.
Mr Abraham, 41, a chest consultant, denies possessing 110 morphine tablets and 43 tablets containing temazepam with intent to supply. He also denies simple possession of the drugs.
John Causer, defending, said they were medicines and not "recreational". Mr Abraham, of Imperial Road, Windsor, Berkshire, is due to stand trial on January 7 next year. Conditional bail was continued.
