Does unique gold bangle belong to you?

POLICE in Humberside are appealing nationwide in an attempt to discover the owner of a unique gold bangle that has been handed in to police in Driffield, East Yorkshire.

The Leo De Vroomen gold bangle is a solid 18carot gold hinged bangle with 21 brilliant cut diamonds set within it.

The bangle is one of two such identical pieces of jewellery, designed and crafted by the jeweller Leo De Vroomen and both came from a unique collection.

The bangle is thought to have been supplied to Boodle and Dunthorpes jewellers in Knightsbridge, London in 1994.

However inquiries with the jewellers have failed to locate the person who purchased the bangle and has an estimated value of between £10,000 and £12,000.

A paramedic, who now works for the regional ambulance service in East Yorkshire, found the bracelet in an old medical bag that he has used whilst working for the London Ambulance Service.

It is not known how the piece of jewellery came to be in the bag but the paramedic informs police he left London in 2001 and therefore it is assumed the bracelet was lost by its owner before that date, somewhere in the London area

Extensive inquiries have been made to trace the owner of the bangle but to date there has been no success.

Police are now extending their search for the rightful owner and are appealing to members of the public across the country whether they recognise it.

If anyone knows the owner of the jewellery, or indeed if they recognise it as belonging to them, they are asked to contact Driffield Police Station in Humberside on 0845 60 60 222.
