Youngsters have been getting their vocal chords in gear for a battle of the Christmas carols.

Forget the X Factor, Festive Factor on kmfm is set to see dozens of schools from across Kent compete for the best school Christmas carols for 2009.

A late surge in entries has left judges with an extremely difficult task - to draw up a shortlist of finalists.

Now a top 10 has been compiled, and it is up to kmfm listeners to vote for their favourites via kmfm.co.uk from Monday, November 30.

The top five schools will then be revealed in a nail-biting countdown in the week leading up to Christmas - with the overall winner getting their carol professionally produced.

They will also win a recording studio gift experience courtesy of Independent Music Productions of Canterbury, before being played on kmfm Breakfast on Christmas Day!
