Forget talking turkey - why not just sing it!
Well, according to our farmers, anything that supports local produce is a good thing – even if it is a turkey of a Christmas song.
Kent Turkey farmers are welcoming a turkey-themed remake of the Twelve Days of Christmas, made by the National Farmers Union (NFU) to kick-start turkey sales for Christmas.

The traditional lyrics have gone and instead of five gold rings and a partridge in a pear tree there are now five mince pies and a big fat juicy turkey.
The NFU hopes the song will raise awareness that turkey farmers need people to buy local produce and buy the best they can afford.
Kent Turkey Farmer Clive Wreathall who owns Appledore Turkeys on Priory Farm on Romney Marsh said: “Anything that helps us promote and sell our products is greatly welcomed.
“I think it’s one of those fun things that catches the public’s imagination. It’s always important at this time of year not to take things too seriously.
“We are not suffering falling sales yet but we are aware the credit crunch is having an effect on families.
“But things like local production, environmental and welfare concerns are still important to people - credit crunch or not credit crunch - and we want to make sure people can still buy the best for their family.”
