Detectives are appealing to motorists not to leave valuables in their cars after thieves have been at work in Thanet.
It is the smaller cars, such as the Citroen Saxo, Peugeot 106 and Fiat Punto, that are being targeted.
Windows have been smashed and doors levered open with stereos, sat nav systems, cash and documents and in one case a guitar being stolen.
There have been 25 incidents in two weeks, mainly in Margate.
Thieves have also broken into vehicles where nothing is on display and then rummaged through boots and glove boxes.
Det Insp Tony Pledger said: “Make yourself less likely to become a victim by not leaving out valuables. Park in well lit areas and where there is CCTV or lots of people around.”
