A double-decker bus travelling from Folkestone to Canterbury was involved in a collision with a car on Tuesday morning.

The black Fiat and the bus collided where the main Canterbury Road narrows just north of the village of Elham.

It blocked the route until around 9.30am as the car was left sideways in in the middle of the road.

Police were called at about 7.55am and an ambulance also attended.

The bus was travelling empty to North Elham, where it was going to turn round and head to Folkestone, picking up passengers on the way.

It is understood that people in the car suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

The road is very narrow where the accident occured, and is sandwiched between two high banks. Cars and buses cannot get past each other without pulling in.
