Kent commuters heading to London faced double disruption this morning.

A crash involving two cars and a motorbike closed a lane of the A2 near the Danson interchange at about 7.15am.

Queues stretched back more than four miles past the Dartford Heath junction.

Emergency services were called and the road was fully re-opened at about 8.30am.

Earlier, traffic built up on the same stretch of the London-bound A2 carriageway because of a broken-down vehicle in the Blackwall Tunnel.

The tunnel was closed to recover the vehicle before re-opening just after 7.20am.
