Dover 3 Dartford 2

A Nicky Southall goal decided a five-goal thriller between Dover and Dartford in the FA Trophy third qualifying round at Crabble on Saturday.

Southall came from nowhere to bundle substitute James Rogers's cross past keeper Andrew Young on 69 minutes to put the Whites 3-2 in front.

The other four goals came in a pulsating first 36 minutes.

Dover took the lead on six minutes when the excellent Andy Birchall collected Matt Fish's cross before spinning his marker and firing beyond Young.

But Darts deservedly levelled in the 27th minute when Jay May combined brilliantly with Lee Burns before drilling home from close range.

The visitors went ahead on 34 minutes when Danny Harris headed in Ryan Hayes's cross at the far post.

But the lead lasted just two minutes before Danny Dafter was adjudged to have pushed Shaun Welford in the box and Frannie Collin stepped up to score his eighth goal of the season from the penalty spot.

The Whites were reduced to 10 men just after the hour mark when Yado Mambo - on work experience from Charlton - ended a debut to forget by being sent off for a second bookable offence after a poor tackle on Harris.

Southall had the last word but Dartford almost earned the replay they probably warranted when substitute Danny Crouch lobbed a shot inches wide of an unguarded net deep into stoppage time.
